31st Chelsea Gold – against the challenges of a rescheduled date and timing of flowering for September we were proud to receive a Gold medal at the RHS Chelsea Exhibition 2021 and the President’s Award for the President’s favourite exhibit.
The exhibit featured 2500 clematis plants spread across over 40 varieties planted in a mix of planting situations such as banks, pots and containers with the clematis either scrambling or climbing on obelisks and trellis.
The wooden containers were built by Guernsey’s Creative Learning in Prison scheme (in this case) and based on the Wyecliffe and Pembroke container designs by Anthony Paul and Andrew Fisher Tomlin respectively. www.oxfordplanters.co.uk are the regular UK suppliers of these.
